Installations + Projects > The Creative Act

The Creative Act is a printmaking installation project that is intended to engage the viewer through giant woodcuts displayed as faux stage set, creating the impression of having walked into an illustration from a fairy tale or 15th century printed book. The project explores different stages of the creative process which any artist or creative thinker experiences. Inspiration and doubt, frustration and triumph are inherent in the artistic process and this tension is presented using metaphoric images.
Supported in part by Decatur Arts Alliance Seed Grant.
