Hanging Above My Head
This installation was on view during the 18th Annual Hambidge Art Auction & Performance Gala took place on April 27, 2013 at the Goat Farm Arts Center where guests wandered throughout the grounds – a former factory and historic site – to discover imaginative art, performances, installations, and experiences at every turn indoors and out.
Hanging Above My Head is an installation of joyful party pennants reminiscent of prayer flags that flutter in the evening sky but which hint to the threat of disaster that is always hanging overhead.
The metaphoric images, included birds, clouds, rain drops, and flowers, were screenprinted onto Tyvek and sewn onto cotton cords.
